Mastering MIG welding can open doors to a variety of projects, whether you're working on automotive repairs or crafting artistic metal sculptures. Here are the top ten tips to help you elevate your MIG welding skills to the next level.

1. Understand Your Equipment

Familiarise yourself with the components of your MIG welder, including the gas cylinder, regulator, and welding gun. Knowing how each part functions will enable you to troubleshoot any issues and optimise your setup. Always refer to the manufacturer's manual for specific operating guidelines.

2. Choose the Right Filler Material

Selecting the appropriate filler metal for your base materials is crucial. For instance, ER70S-6 is a popular choice for general-purpose welding on mild steel. Ensure that your filler matches the materials you are working with for a sound bond and minimised defects.

3. Adjust Voltage and Wire Speed
